Practice makes perfect and one thing I do not like to do is practice. So learning to play piano form lessons every week was not the smoothest process.
A few yeas ago I found a unique and interesting talent. I could listen to most piano music in songs, and in twenty to thirty minutes know how to play large portions of almost any piano music just from the memory of listening to the music. I learned multiple songs just from memory of listening to music. I decided to take lessons to further my piano abilities and i instantly knew one thing for sure. Taking lessons was a gigantic mistake.
Piano lessons turned a fun hobby into a everyday practicing grind. I disliked taking lessons so much I stopped practicing and ceased all playing and dreaded every time I had to go to a lesson. After four months of lessons i had finally had it, I quit lessons all together. I had decided to got back to the easy and carefree way I enjoyed and originally learned piano. While lessons weren't completely useless and I did learn many things from them the most important thing I learned was that when I'm forced or obligated to practice or do anything I will most likely or not skip it all together. However, when its my choice to do something I will do it in a heartbeat.
