It’s that time of the year, where the trees turn a different color and the leaves fall to the ground. The weather changes and it starts to get cold. And that time is Halloween. Happy Halloween, and Thanksgiving earliy from yours truly, Oranges. this time of year goes out to me, the color of orange which reprents the months of October and November. I love this time of year for all those reasons, forget December and its Christmas. October comes before December and so does November.
On the real though Thanksgiving bring in a holiday that I enjoy and the best part of that holiday is the feast of a turkey dinner. Don’t worry about shopping for items that has to be just right for that someone, and then go through the trouble of wrapping them after all the shopping. turkey day (Thanksgiving) is just about turkey, and gravy, with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Turkey day is about bringing family together to which is a tradition in mines. Its one of those times when everyone just gets together regardless of what’s going on in life so on Turkey Day my family and I know, that that is the day to meet up, stuff our face and not be ridiculed about anything.
My family gets together to meet at either my moms house or my aunties house and everyone knows that we don’t have to bring anything because my mom provides the food unless my auntie is going to cook at here place (then my auntie provides all the food). Besides having a turkey dinner at my moms is more enjoyable because she cooks larger porportions plus it’s way more space.
In the past, my mom always seemed to be being the cooking. She would make the turkey for Thanksgiving Day. She would also make the stuffing, gravy, chittilans, greens, cornbeard, yams and mashed potatoes. That is basically about all a Thanksgiving dinner consistes of, I forgot the rolls. The rolls top off the dinner.
Recently though my auntie has been stepping up and having everyone meet at her place on Turkey day. Which is unusal since she has always been the avaricious type. My auntie still does’nt have as much food for everyone to eat though and you always have to be like the first ones there when she cooks or you’d wind up disappointed.
Furthermore, in my family, everyone is big. My littlest sister weighs more than me. I’ve picked up some weight but still my little sister still weighs more than me, and I’m the oldest. My family thinks that just because I am smaller that I do not like to eat, please.
Generally,this time of year (October and November) are the funniest parts my family and I can spend together. During These seasons the weather changes, crisp skys and new colors come into making. First comes the candies and after that is the food! I love food, and I have to eat food in order to stay healthy. However nothing brings my family and I together like Thanksgiving does. Again the color theme of these months represent my name, Orange(s).
