Lifes journey of food: Past, Present, and future
Food, what a broad subject, there are so many different types of food. Food in general is a bring together of sorts. When people want to have a get together or celebrate holidays the general, or most specific thing that brings them together is delicious, scrumptious food. For me my family love food so on holidays or get together; we will just say no one is left hungry or neglected of food, unfed.

Growing up in a split family brought many options for food/dinners, introduced at an early age
I remember the simple night with the cheesiest and best tasting and smelling macaroni and cheese, with a cut up hot dog thrown in to the mix for a little protein. As I got older i began to discover that there were many options to choose from, I can remember being at my Mom's/Dads house and calling the other to find out what they were having for dinner. The answer of that questions solely depended on where I stayed that night.

Becoming a young adult and being able to cook and prepare meals is the best experience as, I am no longer stuck with whatever is prepared for me. It is finally my choice. Although I'm not a good cook I absolutely adore baking. Which is not surprising as, that is something passed down from generation to generation. My grandma used to bake ll the time, my favorite thing about when she baked is that everything she ever made was made from scratch, no boxed cookies or brownies. Which made her cookies or brownies delicious, as I would take a bite it was a soft sugary delight with a touch of chocolate chips in every bite.

one of the biggest holidays I can remember is Christmas eve. On this day, me and my family would pile in the car and head for my uncles house as we were excited to see family that we hadn't seen for years. My family always did a pot luck for dinner and dessert on the eve of Christmas. We would always bring Green Bean Casserole. (my Grandmas recipe) This was a must have it has soft green beans, and a soupy flavor, mixed with crunchy onions atop. I have now began to make it Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Amongst the rest of the family everyone would bring a hot plate item or something sweet and full of sure, the they would wonder why the children never wanted to go to bed to wait for Santa. ( we were on sugar highs). I would have to thank my grandmother for keeping her famous recipes in the family.

Some of my Grandma's recipes that exist still in my family would be her famous fudge. She would make various kinds. For instance, she would make Chocolate, White Chocolate, Peanut butter, and Caramel chocolate with walnuts. All made from scratch and with love, they were all very delectable, The fudge always melted in my mouth and I just wanted to savor it and keep eating. Some of her other recipes were Chocolate Chip cake. However I did not know this recipe was hers until this year. I despise cake but this is a completely different scenario, as a child I would eat cake "any kind" but, as i became a young adult flavors and textures of food changed for me. I cant stand the sponge texture of cake. However, Chocolate Chip cake if different, when adding the ingredients in a bowl it resembles cookie dough, with chocolaty morsels. Once in a pan an baked it smells like cookies baking, and if the sugar inside of the cake isn't enough, it is topped with sugar and Cinnamon for a little extra "BAM". this is the only cake I will eat and I get this cake as a Birthday cake every year for my birthday for as long as I can remember. Besides my Grandma, my parents both enjoyed cooking and baking.
Food has a way in my family, of happiness as I said before My grandma baked and It keeps passing from generation to generation. My father loves to cook and bake, but prefers one over the other. Baking is a delight for him, but back in 2004 he was diagnosed with diabetes. That changed everything for him, as he had to learn to bake all over again. Although, he did find a way to still use Grandmas recipes by just substituting sugar with an artificial sugar. He can still bake with regular sagar, yet can only eat it in moderation. Although, my dad enjoys to bake but when I was growing up it was whatever was fast, and easy as He has three children, easy worked for both of my parents.

My mother also enjoys to cook and prepare meals. I remember being young and having her cook dinner after a day of work. She would often make simple dinners as she also had three children. So as a parent having to work and then come home and be a mommy to her kids. I can see how simple worked for her. Now that all of her kids are grown we can now cook for our selves. I find pleasure in cooking for her and my second dad (step). I often see why it made it easier to cook easy dinners, as I now work and I am continuing my education. Easy dinners consisted of cheesy mac and cheese, hot dogs, and hamburger helper, all taking under then thirty minutes. As life goes on we often look for things that quick and easy to prepare as our population grows in size.
None of my family really worried about what was healthy, however we worried about what pleased and gave pleasure to our palette. Good food cant be healthy, well when growing up that what I thought. Now I can find substitutions for sugar or I can make food with fresh herbs grown in my own backyard. My family never had to worry about me eating vegetables, as I have loved them since the time I began eating. Food is a necessity in life so, why not make it have flavor and be toothsome. I enjoy all different types of foods and flavors.

Food can consist of many different types such as, Asian Cuisine, American, and much much more. All of these foods have differences and only a handful of similarities. Some of the differences would be the flavor of the food and how it varies just by the spices and sauces used. On the other hand, one main similarity would be Hot Peppers or spicy sauces I find that all three Food Types listed above have this in common.

Although, Food has many different types and flavors, It is a necessity in life and my family loves food. Food brings people together and makes people feel complete. Having memories of grandmas cooking and still having her recipes in the family, mean allot to me and I want to continue to pass these on to my children and their children. Therefore, they can have wonderfully memories like I do. This is my journey through life with food and family. Enjoy it while you can and while you have those to enjoy it with, even though my grandma is no longer around it is like she is baking with me when using one of her recipes.
I love it! It kept my attention the whole way through. I would recommend a proofread though, you could really make it shine.
