Living a healthy life now

Food has never really been a big passion for me, I like to eat but I really never loved eating. When I was growing up I used to eating fast food, and sweets like fresh baked cookies and creamy ice cream. I was use to eating those types of food all the time but I didn’t know any better, I didn’t know junk the put in food until I got older. When I was younger I didn’t care about how I looked. When I grew older I didn’t like how I looked or felted, I wanted a change. I started working out with at trainer at 24 Hour Fitness to into shape. I started to learn more about nutrition and exerciser. I learned about what foods were good and what food were bad. Before learning about nutrition, I knew about how junk food but I didn’t know about the junk they put in regular food, trying to make it seem like it was healthy. Take a look at this Facebook post “The 15 Scariest Food Additives posted by Eat This, Not That! . After learning more about food I have become more cautious about the food I eat.
After learning more about what was in the food I was eating I started to feel disgusted and angry . I couldn’t believe why they put junk into the food I was eating. Junk food for me consists of candy, fast food, snack food like fruit snacks(Not real fruit). Not that I never eaten these types of food. When it comes to fast food, it disgusts me, just thinking about all the grease they use. Whenever I eat fast food I generally leave with an upset stomach and a grease coated mouth. Therefore, if I do eat fast food I try to get the healthiest items on the menu like a grilled chicken sandwich and a fresh side salad.
Learning to transition from eating junk food to eating healthier was difficult and expensive. In addition, changing my eating habits from a negative to a positive was difficult in the following ways. I had to change from eating foods I use to like to healthier foods that didn’t always taste the best. Eating health doesn't have to always taste bad. Eating healthy can come at a high price but in the long run it well worth it. It can be temping to watch others eat what I used to enjoy. Although, junk food is temping, learning the benefits to eating healthy can change ones perspective on good like it did mine.
The benefits I have since changing my eating habits are I feel healthier, I have more energy and I feel in a better mood. Getting a gym membership also gives me an upper hand in continuing my healthy life style. It has help me gain more muscles and strength, along with eating right have led me to a happier, healthier me. Therefore, living a healthy life and eating right can lead to a healthier society and would lower the obesity rates in the U.S. In the end eating right and daily exercise can show some amazing results.
Learning about what was in my food gave me a whole new outlook. Therefore, I have chosen a healthier lifestyle. Some may say I go overboard with health food snacks, but until they see what’s in their food maybe they will understand why I chose to live healthy. In the end, living healthy and wanting to live longer have made me a happier person all around.
